A Time to Check In with Yourself

October is a good time to slow down and take a moment to check in with yourself. When emotions begin to feel overwhelming, persistent, or difficult to navigate, you do not have to work through them alone. Therapy can provide a supportive space to better understand what you are experiencing, explore underlying concerns, and develop healthy ways to cope.
October 8 is National Depression Screening Day, which serves as an opportunity to pause and reflect on your mental health. Taking a few moments to consider how you have been feeling can be an important first step toward recognizing when additional support may be helpful.
When the day feels overwhelming, consider trying a small “micro reset” to reconnect with yourself and the present moment. This might include taking a few slow breaths, stepping outside for fresh air, stretching, taking a brief break from a stressful task, or simply giving yourself a quiet moment to pause.
Taking care of your mental health does not have to be complicated. Sometimes, it begins with something as simple as making space to check in with yourself. If you are struggling with persistent or difficult emotions, reaching out to a mental health professional can help you take the next step toward feeling supported.
