My Story

Nick Diaz is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Caldwell University. Prior to his current position, Nick worked in multiple levels of care, including inpatient, PHP/IOP, crisis services, outpatient services, and school settings. He has over six years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults and describes himself as someone who has a deep passion for aiding individuals in reaching their goals.

Through his professional journey, Nick has gained significant experience working with depression, anxiety, gender identity issues, stress and trauma-related concerns, and crisis interventions. He works with each client from a Trauma-Informed method of care, understanding that past experiences may shape an individual’s ability to cope with emotional pain. He also utilizes various other approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other trauma-informed approaches. Nick currently also utilizes Play Therapy when working with children and is working towards his Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential.

Nick’s main goal in counseling is to always provide a safe, non-judgemental, and attentive environment where clients are able to be authentic and vulnerable in order to aid in their recovery. Nick truly believes that the core of recovery begins at the relational and safety levels of interaction between counselor and client.
